Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, acceleration of bone metabolism therapy using combination methods of poly(P) and PTH was evaluated under conditions of reduced bone quality and metabolism; osteoporosis and diabete models.
The combination poly(P) and PTH demonstrated ehancement of bone formation and osseointegration.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

重篤な骨粗鬆症や糖尿病を有する骨再生には,骨代謝活性および骨強度の低下に対する療法が必要であり,これに対する予知性の高い治療法は確立されていない.インプラント適応される高齢者の割合は多く,また骨粗鬆症や糖尿病を合併する割合も多い.それゆえ,ポリリン酸吸着人工骨とPTH間歇投与の両者を合わせた骨メタボリズム促進再生療法の確立は,高齢化社会におけるインプラント治療の適用拡大と予知性で国民のQOLの向上に大きな寄与となることと期待できる.
