Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We investigated if cholesterol metabolism would be important for cell growth in cell lines derived from malignant lymphoma and leukemia. As the result of studies, cholesterol metabolism is critical for cell growth in lymphoma and leukemia cells. Blocking of cholesterol efflux was also found to be important for cell growth, and blocking for cholesterol efflux induced apoptosis of lymphoma and leukemia cells.
