Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We aimed to reveal the role of the frontal area in the cortical network for temporal contextual memory. By intervention to the frontal area detected in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), impairment in the task performance was observed. Furthermore, we applied this combined intervention method to other cognitive functions: response inhibition and metamemory.

本研究は、fMRIにより同定された脳領域・ネットワークに対し、介入手法を組み合わせ、(1) 時間的文脈での出典記憶に関わる前頭葉の役割、(2) 反応抑制に関わる大脳ネットワーク、(3) メタ記憶に関わる大脳ネットワークについて明らかにした。これらは、記憶想起に関わる大脳ネットワークの作動原理など、さまざまな認知機能の関わる神経機構の解明につながると考えられる。また、これらの成果は、高次認知機能脳障害の診断や治療法の確立につながることが期待される。
