Outline of Final Research Achievements

We have expanded our true orbit generation method, a new simulation method without errors, to be applicable to piecewise linear fractional maps whose coefficients are real algebraic. Using true orbit simulation, we also have analyzed an area-preserving plane map which has a relation to the Schroedinger equation, and we have identified a hierarchical structure existing in the parameter space. Moreover, in order to give a firm mathematical foundation to our pseudorandom number generators using true orbits, we have proved that our sets of initial points (i.e., seeds) have a property such that each element belongs to a different algebraic number field.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

数値誤差が系の性質を本質的に壊してしまう可能性がある対象に対して,固定精度浮動小数点数を用いる従来のシミュレーション法を適用し,解析を行うのは限界がある.本研究によって,誤差のないシミュレーションを実現する真軌道生成法が,より広い力学系のクラスに対して適用できるようになった.また,2次元保測写像に関する成果は,力学系研究としての価値だけでなく,真軌道計算の有効性を確認できたという点でも意義がある.
また,現代社会を支える基盤技術の1つと言える擬似乱数は,様々な応用に大量に用いられている.本研究によって,我々の真軌道擬似乱数生成器が,複数の擬似乱数列を生成する際に極めて良い性質を持つことを示せた.
