Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research aims to establish a learning support system architecture capable to integrate diverse learning styles such as self-learning and group-learning, as well as to provide both function extensibility of learning environment and system interoperability including content and learning strategy description.
Based on the basic architecture regarding communication interface between elemental building blocks called "courseware objects", a distributed multi-platform architecture has been proposed to implement learning support environment integrating diverse learning styles on distributed platforms including Web server and smartphone,
Design and implementation has been conducted to optimize communication between courseware object as well as dynamically relocate courseware object among platforms. In addition, the architecture has been applied to implement learning environment for practical learning strategies such as flipped classroom.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

現在,学校への電子教科書やタブレット端末などの導入が積極的に進められているが,コンテンツやツールのほとんどは独自アプリとして開発され,相互連携・利活用の枠組みは規定されていない.本研究はそのような問題点を解決し,統合的な学習環境の枠組みを提供するものである.
技術的には,学習方略の分析から導かれたデザインパターンを基盤とすることで,学習支援技術分野での汎用性を確保するとともに,デザインパターンに基づき通信最適化や動的再配置を行う点に新規性がある.このように特定の応用領域の技術を分析・抽象化して共通的なデザインパターンを導き,その上で実装の最適化を行う方法論にソフトウェア工学的な意義がある.
