| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Drawing on multiple case studies based on interviews and participant observation, this study finds the following. First, among managers with different performance measures, uneven performance results enhance their feeling of indebtedness to others. This indebtedness induce managers cooperative behaviors, for example, assuming wide roles and showing sensitivity to others. Second, community capacity encourages community members to involve community initiatives and then enhances NPO's accountability to community. To increase community capacity, interactions between NPO professionals and community members enhance community members' sense of community, commitment to community initiatives, their ability to solve problems, and access to community resources.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の意義は，第一に，これまで日本企業に特徴的であるとされてきた管理会計実務を理論的に解明したことである。このことは，日本企業が今後さらにグローバルに事業を展開していくにあたって，内向きの合意形成に陥るといった負の側面を克服し，コミュニケーションや協力関係の促進につなげる手がかりとなる。第二に，管理会計分野ではこれまでほとんど研究されてこなかった高齢者福祉や社会福祉の領域を開拓したことである。この領域では，複数組織の協働が求められており，専門家とコミュニティメンバーが協力的に管理会計システムの設計・利用に関与することによって，幅広い住民の参加を促すことができることを明らかにした。
