| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aimed to form a positive spiral to enhance the standards of support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in Japanese higher education institutions. To achieve this, hearing and questionnaire surveys were conducted nationwide, targeting universities to clarify the current support situation and its challenges. The study then focused on addressing the introduction of speech recognition technology, identified as a significant issue. Through action research, including workshops and pilot implementations, the study aimed to improve practical applications in the field. The insights gained were compiled and published as web content. As a result, the standards for reasonable accommodations were substantially raised, contributing to the enhancement of support systems in many universities.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の学術的意義は、現時点における聴覚障害学生支援の現状について、より詳細な実態を明らかにし、課題の解決に向けたアプローチを提示した点にある。特に、聴覚障害学生の支援に不可欠と言えるノートテイクやパソコンノートテイクなどの手段がすでに85％以上の大学で広くスタンダートとして利用されていることを示した点は、今後の支援体制普及においても意義深いことである。
一方、社会的意義としては、現在多くの課題を抱えている音声認識技術の導入に関して、問題点を明確にするとともに、それらを解決するための実践とウェブコンテンツの公開を通じて、多くの大学における支援体制強化に貢献したと考えている。
