| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aimed to verify whether facilitation skills were effective at case conferences in special education settings. We developed a 20-minute video clip to show how to apply these skills during conferences. In the experiment, participants were divided into two groups: those who watched the video (an experimental group) and those who watched a different video (a control group). Before and after watching either video clips, participants were asked to have a meeting based on the scenarios we developed. After comparing participants’ behaviors during the pre- and post-meetings, we found that during the post-meeting, the former group demonstrated more facilitation skills than the latter. The video clip was widely distributed to educational institutions, including to teachers and parents, in order for them to apply facilitation skills in their settings.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の成果により、ファシリテーションの理解啓発のための動画を使うことで、ファシリテーションの技術を実際の会議の中で使う頻度が高まることが示された。これまで単なるノウハウとして広まっていたファシリテーションを研究として取り上げてその効果測定を行ったことには学術的な意義がある。
また、効果測定された、ファシリテーションの理解啓発の動画をDVD化し教育現場を中心に実際に使ってもらうことを狙いとして広く頒布し、様々な現場でファシリテーションの技術を活用してもらう一助とした。これにより、会議の効率化、具体的な行動計画の立案につながりやすくなることは社会的な意義として大きいであろう。
