Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Respiratory coordinate between subpleural and central regions in measured values derived from dynamic-ventilation computed tomography was demonstrated to be reduced in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, which fibrosis in secondary lobule is predominant in periphery, as compared with connective tissue disease associated interstitial pneumonia. This result indicates that invisible early-staged pulmonary fibrosis can be detected through regional analyses of dynamic-ventilation computed tomography data in normal-appearing area.

今研究において、4次元呼吸ダイナミックCT画像データの呼吸内の局所変動を解析することで、従来の呼吸機能検査等では、検出できなかった早期の肺野線維化病変を検出する可能性があることを示せたことは、間質性肺炎の診断や治療に関して、より適切な時期により効果的な介入が、将来的に可能となることを示唆しており、意義深い。
