Outline of Final Research Achievements

Based on the findings of this clinical study, the following conclusion was drawn:
The intermaxillary relationship captured by using digital scan methods and IOSs had better precision than that obtained by conventional methods with a silicone impression material and a gypsum cast.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

顎間関係を正確に再現することは,歯列の印象から石膏模型並びに三次元形態データとして正確に再現する事と同等以上に,歯冠補綴装置を製作する上で非常に重要であると考えられるが,口腔内スキャナーによって得られた印象データの精度については多数の報告がある一方で,顎間関係記録に関する報告はほとんど存在しない.
本研究の結果より,口腔内スキャナーで撮影された顎間関係のデジタルスキャンは、シリコン印象材や石膏模型を用いた従来法よりも高い精度を有していることが示された.
