Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Wood products in outdoor conditions need to be protected from the effects of ultraviolet rays by light resistance treatment. However, the mechanism of photodegradation of wood has not been completely clarified yet. This study conducted topochemical analysis of photodegraded wood surfaces using confocal Raman microscopy. As a result, changes in the chemical composition of wood during light exposure could be visualized at the cellular level. The photodegradation behavior of the coated wood surfaces was also revealed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
