Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, in order to identify mammalian growth factors in discus milk, we searched for genes induced in the mucus of discus parent fish by RNA sequencing analysis using a next-generation sequencer that can comprehensively analyze gene expression. As a result, immunoglobulins were found as candidates for mammalian growth factors, and their dynamics in the hatchlings suggested that immunoglobulins may be the mammalian growth factors that have been sought for many years.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
