Research Abstract

最短ネットワーク問題に関しては,ユークリッド平面のシュタイナー比予想が1990年に解決したことになっていたが,その証明にギャップがあることを指摘した。これにより,1998年に証明されたことになっていた球面のシュタイナー比も未解決問題に逆戻りした。一方で,負の定曲率曲面のシュタイナー比が1/2であることを証明した。もっと一般にビジビリティ公理を満たす曲面のシュタイナー比の計算の方法を確立した。また,非負曲率曲面のシュタイナー比を計算する際に有用になる圧縮定理を証明した。平面の凸ビリヤード問題に関しては,配位空間の平行線による層化と状相空間の可縮でないビリヤードボール写像で不変な閉曲線との関係について研究し,円ビリヤードの特徴づけを行った。
