Research Abstract

青森県下北半島沖ならびに北海道知床半島沖より採取した深海堆積物を用いて, 最終氷期以降の北西太平洋/オホーツク海の中深層循環の変遷について高時間分解能で解析した.その結果, 研究海域において最終氷期から退氷期にかけて急激に中深層循環が変化した証拠が確認された.そのタイミングはグリーンランド氷床コアに認められる気候イベントと一致し, 北半球規模の大気モードの変化を通じて北太平洋中層水の再編が生じた事を示唆している.
