Research Abstract	アメリカで1840年から43年にかけて作られたダゲレオタイプ・イメージは、技術的に発展途上であったにもかかわらず、その後のイメージにはない存在感を被写体に感じる.これは、ダゲレオタイプがヴァーチャル・テクノロジーであり、取られる人物が自分を投げかける意識を持っていたからである.1850年代以降、ダゲレオタイプは写真ビジネスとして拡大し、その中で被写体の役割が消失し、ジェンダーを付与されるようになった.
