Outline of Final Research Achievements |
There are two types of circularly polarized luminescence (CPL): left-rotating and right-rotating luminescence. In this study, we prepared a new optically active flexible or rigid pyrene circularly polarized luminescent material with fluorescent pyrene rings. These luminophores can emit both left- and right-handed CPL from a luminescent material with the same chirality by external stimuli.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
1種類の光学活性ピレン発光体、1種類のアキラルなピレン発光体から、左右両方の回転する光・円偏光発光(CPL)を作り出すことに成功した。この成果は、天然物など1種類のキラリティーしか存在しない発光体あるいはアキラルな発光体から回転する光を発出させることが可能であることを示しており、円偏光発光(CPL)体開発の幅が、大幅に広がると考えられる。
