Outline of Final Research Achievements

We examined space science data suitable for content creation from two points of view, i.e., observation data and simulation data. Regarding observation data, we arranged quick-look data into a web-based user interface. Since some of these data have unique data formats, we analyze such data in order to convert them into data formats suitable for commonly used CG software with well-known coordinate systems. We also curated information to produce content using space science data. Regarding simulation data, e.g., shape models of asteroids, we developed advanced methods to create and render such models. In conjunction with these viewpoints, we developed methods for applying observation data into 3D CG models, web-based 3D applications, and so forth.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

従来研究者向けに提供されてきた宇宙科学データを、研究者のみならず、広く一般のコンテンツ制作に供するための検討を行なった結果として、観測データや形状モデルを一般的なコンテンツ制作用アプリケーションに導入するための見通しが得られた。一方で学術面を考えると、模擬データについては、旧来特定ミッション向けに開発された要素技術が、広く今後の類似ミッションへの応用も可能となる見通しが得られた。観測データについても、本研究の手法で可視化されたデータは研究者向けの早見画像として応用可能であると考えられる。
