Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In FY 2019, this study showed that the size of the dust in the molecular cloud gas affects the evolution of the disk magnetic flux. Next, in FY2020, we worked on the formulation and implementation of a dust-gas two-fluid magnetohydrodynamic code to elucidate the effect of dust growth on the magnetic flux evolution. A new numerical method for dust-gas two-fluid was proposed and reported as a peer-reviewed paper. Using this code, we discovered a new physical phenomenon, "dust accretion in protoplanetary disks," which was accepted for publication in Letters and a press release was issued in FY2021.

本研究の最も重要な成果は「原始惑星系円盤の降灰現象」です。以下でその内容について述べます。我々の研究グループは、惑星の種となる固体微粒子の「ダスト」(数ミリメートル程度に成長した塵)が惑星のゆりかごである「原始惑星系円盤」に降り積もる現象を、スーパーコンピュータを用いたシミュレーションによって発見しました。 地球上の火山噴火による降灰は、人々の生活に大きな影響を与えますが、今回発見した天空の「降灰」は、円盤の外側領域で惑星の種を成長させるメカニズムとなる可能性があります。また、今回の発見は、星と惑星形成についてのまったく新しい理論的理解への道を開くという点でも重要なものです。
