Outline of Final Research Achievements

We performed a copy number variation (CNV) analysis in 22q11.2 deletion syndrome patients with schizophrenia-like psychosis. The deletion of GGT2 gene was only found in a 22q11.2 deletion syndrome patient with schizophrenia-like psychosis and drug-induced parkinsonism. The number of samples is small, and more cases need to be accumulated.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

統合失調症の治療薬の副作用として、パーキンソニズムが問題である。しかし、薬剤性パーキンソニズムの個体差における分子基盤の解明は十分に解明されていない。ヒト第22番染色体長腕11.2の微細欠失を原因とする症候群である22q11.2欠失症候群患者では、高率に統合失調症症状を呈することが明らかとなっている。今回、統合失調症症状を有する22q11.2欠失症候群患者において、抗精神病薬の反応性の違いに対し、一部の遺伝子が関わっている可能性があることが示唆された。この研究を進めることで、統合失調症治療におけるオーダーメイド医療の発展に寄与できる可能性があると考えられた。
