It is suggested that hypofunction of the NMDA receptors, a subtype of glutamate receptors, might be implicated in the pathophysiology of schizophrenia. In this study, we found that glycine transporter inhibitor or a combination of D-serine and D-amino acid oxidase inhibitor would be potential therapeutic drugs for schizophrenia.
