Research Abstract

酵母サイトゾルtRNAのチオ修飾は、ミトコンドリアtRNAのチオ修飾と異なり、サイトゾルでの鉄硫黄クラスター形成タンパク質群を必要とすることをまず明らかにし、次に、それ以外に、これまで、機能不明であったユビキチン様タンパク質Urm1とE1タンパク質様のUba4を必要とすることを、申請者は明らかにした。さらにUrm1、Uba4を介する硫黄運搬はユビキチンのタンパク質修飾系と同じくUrm1の末端グリシンを必要とし、Urm1存在下でUba4が硫黄を付加されることことを見いだし、ユビキチン様修飾経路でサイトゾルtRNAへ硫黄が運搬されることを示唆した。
