Research Abstract

IL-4はマウスマスト細胞の増殖因子としてよく知られているが、我々はIL-4がマスト細胞の分化誘導において主な抑制因子でもあることを初めて確認した。IL-4の刺激によってマクロファージからマスト細胞のアポトーシスを誘導する未知の因子が産生されることを解明した。この未知のアポトーシス誘導因子を同定するために、二色法DNAマイクロアレイ解析(2回、13アレイ)を実行し、信頼できる結果を得た。41267個の遺伝子からIL-4によって発現量が増減した数千種類の遺伝子を一挙に捉えることに成功した。さらに、アポトーシスと関連性のある673個の遺伝子に焦点をおいて、GeneSpringで解析した結果、約20個の候補遺伝子に限定することができた。今後、更なる努力によって、一層の成果が期待される。
