Research Abstract

本研究では320 Gbit/s光時分割多重(OTDM)信号の500 kmにわたる長距離伝送の基盤技術の実現を目的として、高速化・長距離化に必要な基盤技術の研究開発に取り組んできた。160 Gbit/s伝送技術の研究開発を通じて培われた技術的蓄積をもとに、サブピコ秒パルス光源、変復調方式、伝送路および波形歪み補償技術、ならびにクロック抽出および超高速多重分離などの要素技術を実現した。これらを結集して320 Gbit/s OTDM伝送実験を行ない、525 kmの長距離伝送に世界で初めて成功した。さらに、OTDM伝送のさらなる高速化を念頭に、640 Gbit/s OTDM信号発生ならびに多重分離技術に関する基礎検討を行なった。320 Gbit/s信号の多重分離に用いたSMZスイッチにおいて、制御光として用いる光パルスの幅を720 fsまで狭くすることにより、640 Gbit/s多重分離のエラーフリー動作を初めて実証した。
