| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では、関連する展示解説や集合知を横断的に検索して情報を対照的に示す対照検索を行い、ユーザの個性的な発見を創造的に発展させることができる博物館学習支援システムを作成することをめざす。本研究の特色は、生涯にわたる多様で個性的な学習を支援する環境の形成という社会的に重要な課題を扱いながら、メディア横断的なコミュニケーション設計とそれによる人間の行動の誘発パターンとの関係を解析・モデル化するという学術的な意義を持つことである。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We proposed a learning support by contrastive search that cross-searches collective knowledge and contrasts relevant information with exhibits of interest to learners. We developed a learning support system that recommends candidate terms for comparison and provides an intuitive graphical representation of the differences between the selected term for comparison and the exhibits that learners found interesting in the museum. 92% of the 97 participants in the experiment indicated that the contrastive search with the learning support system was effective for making individualized learning and discoveries.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
高度情報化社会の到来にともない、 IT 技術を積極的に利用して、博物館における多様で個性的な学習を支援する環境を整備することは重要である。博物館で現在用いられている音声ガイドなどのシステムでは、ユーザが博物館で「なにを見るのか」については考慮されているが、「どのように見る ( 鑑賞・学習する ) のか」については十分に考慮されていない。提案する学習支援システムは、博物館を訪れたユーザが展示をただ「見る」のではなく、関連する展示や資料と比較・対照してそれらの表す意味について個性的な学習の組みたてや発見に「気づく」ことができるように学習支援を行う。
