Outline of Research at the Start

本研究課題では、グラフ・半順序集合(ポセット)・マトロイドなどの有限離散構造についての組合せ論およびその応用についての研究を行う。ここで「マトロイド」とは、グラフ構造を一般化したものと考えることができ、有限集合を台集合としてその上に定義される離散構造であり、純粋数学分野だけでなく離散最適化をはじめとする応用数学分野においてもこれまで非常によく研究されてきた。本研究では、マトロイドの一般化で、ポセット上にマトロイド的構造を定義した概念である「ポセット・マトロイド」について重点的に研究を進める。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this research, I studied combinatorics of graphs, posets, matroids, and finite discrete structure and their applications. More specifically, I have studied on (1) combinatorial properties of "poset matroids", (2) a generalization of Hoffman's limit theorem from graphs to signed graphs in Spectral Graph Theory, (3) Q-integral graphs, i.e., graphs whose signless Laplacian matrix has only integral eigenvalues, (4) assignment problems in Algorithmic Game Theory and Mechanism Design, and I have obtained new research results for each research topics.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究の1つはマトロイドの自然な一般化であるポセット・マトロイドに関する研究であり、マトロイドが離散最適化アルゴリズム設計において非常に有用な概念であったのと同様に、ポセット・マトロイドの理論が順序構造を含むより一般的な設定での最適化問題に対するアルゴリズム設計へ有用であることが期待され、離散最適化をはじめとする応用数学分野への波及効果が期待できる。
また研究成果の1つであるホフマンの極限定理の符号付きグラフへの一般化の研究では、ホフマン符号付きグラフ、ライン符号付きグラフという新たな概念を導入しており、スペクトラルグラフ理論における新たな研究テーマの創出が期待できる。
