Research Abstract

私の取り組んでいる研究は、インドネシアの連続番組と映画で使われている信号用法(言語形式、ジェスチャー、韻律、イントネーションなど)の表現と、それらの解釈との関係を学際的アプローチを利用して究明することである。
2008年の10月から2009年の3月まで、4人一組の4つのインドネシア人のグループに協力してもらい、3つの連続番組と1つの映画を見てもらい、その様子を録画し、その後それぞれのグループのメンバーにインタヴューを行い録画した。このビデオの会話内容を転写を行い、2009年の3月には終えた。2009年8月にはインドネシアへ行き、テレビ番組や映画など現地のメディアの録画を行った。さまざまなジャンルから400時間以上のものを録画した。
2009年7月には学会「Second International Symposium on the Language of Java(ISLOJ2)」にて、これまでの主な研究の成果を口頭発表した。そしてこの発表は、2009年10月に行われた学会「Text&Talk」にて、修正され発表された。これらの発表をもとに、11月12月にプロジェクト「Language, Media and Personhood : Engaging with Televised Representations in Indonesia」に基づいた本のプロポーザルを書き、機関紙「Journal of Linguistic Anthropology」へ投稿した。現在Oxford University Pressがこのプロポーザルに興味を示しており、現在審査中である。
