Research Abstract |
Novel electrical charger for aerosol nanoparticles with diameter less than 10 nm was developed. Employing new microplasma ion source, higher charging efficiencies (50% for 3-nm particles and 80% for 10-nm particles) than existing chargers were obtained. This instrument enables us to enhance the performance of electrical classification devices and the sensitivity of detector of aerosol nanoparticles.
