Research Abstract |
Buckybowls are bowl-shaped hydrocarbons possessing interesting physical properties and possible candidates for new materials such as related fullerenes. New synthetic methodologies to prepare chiral buckybowls with right-or left-handed structure, heterobuckybowls having non-carbon elements, and substituted buckybowls have been developed. The physical properties have been elucidated as well.
