Research Abstract |
A fundamental study has been carried out to develop a smart concrete that incorporates a self-repairing system for sustainable RC structures. A particular self-repairing device that comprises a self-diagnosis composite and a heat-plasticity pipe has been developed. We confirmed that the proposed system would perform effectively. Moreover, a quantitative assessment method of self-repairing effect and a practical application of the proposed system are confirmed through some experiments.
