Outline of Research at the Start

これまでに開発されているバスの安全運転支援システムでは,必ずしも高齢者や手荷物,携帯電話の操作など,属性によって変わる危険度が反映できていない.バスの遅延によっても不快感情が生じることを考慮すると,乗客の状況に応じて不快度を算出し,乗客の満足度を最大化するための安全運転支援システムを実現する必要がある.本研究では,プライバシの同意を得た上で,車内状態と危険・不快の関連について調査し,乗客の不快感情の低減可能性について分析可能な基礎データの収集を目指す.また,カメラ等でセンシングした車内状態から,危険・不快を生じない運転操作の許容範囲を自動抽出するシステムの構築を目指す.

Outline of Final Research Achievements

In recent years, bus accidents have become a social problem due to the aging and understaffed bus drivers. Bus companies need to realize comfortable driving for passengers while training young drivers with low driving skills in the midst of a manpower shortage. In order to support the efforts of bus companies, we conducted experiments to analyze the interior condition of bus vehicles and collected basic data to clarify the correlation between the interior condition and danger or discomfort. We also conducted research and development on an edge computing platform for real-time analysis of data generated in buses.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

乗客の要求を満たす運行の実現には,安全な低速度で運行するだけでなく,目標時間に到達可能な適切な速度で運行しながら安全性や乗客の快適性を維持する必要がある.本研究の成果である基礎データは,路線バスにおける定常運行において,客観的に観測可能な不快動作とバスの運行状態の関係を明らかにし,更なる分析や事例の自動抽出へとつながる基礎データになると考えており,バス事業者の運行管理者による運転手指導時のコンテンツ自動生成や,自動運転における運行の快適性向上に寄与すると考えられる.
