Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements
This study quantitatively and qualitatively explored how university faculty perceive meaning in their work and lives, and it developed new psychological scales. After reviewing domestic and international literature, we confirmed the validity of a multidimensional model of meaning and verified the reliability and validity of the translated and newly created scales. Using these tools, a nationwide survey revealed that faculty members assign greater meaning to both work and life than the general population, and that such meaning is positively linked to job crafting, work engagement, and well-being. In addition, we ran a narrative-based workshop for early-career researchers and examined its educational impact on fostering a sense of meaning.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
