Findings of this study will fill the gap in the literature regarding the coping strategies with tourism impacts from the perspective of the local residents. They will also provide helpful insights for tourism administrators in their attempt to develop and sustain the tourism sector in the future.

The researcher implemented several studies to examine different aspects of tourism impacts, focusing on the psychological impacts of tourism. They explored these issues not only in Japan but also in Vietnam to expand their understanding. The researcher published their results as journal papers, book chapters, conference proceeding chapters, and conference presentations. They are using this knowledge in teaching and doing other research.
