Research Abstract

Hexagonal apatite type La_<9.33>(SiO_4)_6O_2 and La_<9.7> Si_6O_<26.55> single crystals as an oxide ionic conductor have been successfully prepared by the sintering method, and an anisotropy in their conductivities was confirmed. The conductivity component parallel to the c-axis was 10-100 times higher than the perpendicular component.
