Research Abstract |
We have previously reported that noncanonical Wnt signaling enhanced osteoclastogenesis. To clarify the role of noncanonical Wnt signaling in osteoclastogenesis, we generated osteoclast precursor-specific Ror2, one of the noncanonical Wnt receptor,-deficient mice. These mice exhibited impaired osteoclastogenesis due to suppression of RANK expression in osteoclast precursors, indicating that noncanonical Wnt signaling enhances osteoclastogenesis through RANK expression.
