Outline of Research at the Start

研究代表者はケイ素-ケイ素π単結合をもつ化合物を合成し、その構造や性質について最近、報告した。ケイ素-ケイ素π単結合にはσ結合が存在しないので、通常の二重結合や三重結合のようにσ結合の束縛を受けない。σ結合が存在せず、結合長を変えられる状況では、π結合はどのような構造的、電子的、磁気的特徴を示すのであろうか。そのために本研究では、π単結合の結合長を変化させたときの構造、電子的性質、磁気的性質の変化、π単結合化合物を還元したときのラジカルアニオンの構造と性質、炭素-炭素、ゲルマニウム-ゲルマニウム、スズ-スズπ単結合化合物の合成、構造、性質に関する研究を行う。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

The following results were obtained in this research.
1) The reactions of bicyclo[1.1.0]tetragermane and -silane containing a pi single bond with terminal alkynes were examined. We found that the reactivity is different between the germane and silicon compounds. We clarified the reason.
2) The dianion of the bicyclo[1.1.0]tetragermane was formed by two-electron reduction. We studied how the structure is changed by the reduction.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

我々はケイ素-ケイ素π単結合をもつ化合物を合成し、その構造や性質について報告した。このケイ素-ケイ素π単結合にはσ結合が伴わず、π結合のみが存在している点で従来の二重結合や三重結合とは異なる。π単結合を利用すると、σ結合の束縛を受けないπ結合の本来の姿を明らかにすることが可能になる。
σ結合が存在しないとき、π結合はどのような構造的、電子的、磁気的特徴を示すのであろうか、というのが本研究の中心課題である。π単結合の結合長を変えることによって、従来、見えなかったπ結合の性質を明らかにできると期待され、学術的意義は大きいと考えられる。
