Research Abstract |
Rice plants were grown in soil culture that contained Cd and 1.7 kg of rice grainswere obtained. In the grains Cd was found to be at a concentration of 3.9 ppm.HPLC-ICP/MS analysis was undertaken for the grain and revealed that 4 peaks wereresponsible for the chemical forms of Cd. From the feeding experiment against mouse,no difference in levels of Cd accumulation was found. However, a much greateraccumulation was seen when Cd-containing rice grains were fed.
