Research Abstract

We performed follow-up Japanese GWAS (genome-wide association study) on additional Japanese DNA samples, and identified novel 4 loci associated with prostate cancer. The functional analysis of IRX4 and GGCX, which were identified by our GWAS, indicated novel mechanism of prostate carcinogenesis. We established a risk prediction model for Japanese prostate cancer and validated its consistency and accuracy.
