We have monitored the water quality from the upstream to downstream areas of the Huong river basin in Thua Thien Hue Province, Central Vietnam. Results showed that total N and P concentrations in branch streams in Hue City (2-20 mg N L-1, 0.3-1.6 mg P L-1) were much greater than those in the main river (
