Research Abstract |
We isolated cDNA clones encoding novel sugar-sugar glucosyltransferases catalyzing 1, 6-glucosylation from Gardenia jasminoides and Glehnia littoralis that produce gentiobioside compounds in planta. These recombinant proteins exhibited a unique glucosyl chain elongation activity forming gentiobioside.
