Research Abstract |
Previously, we detected the novel cancer-related gene, SMYD2(SET and MYND domain-containing protein 2) as a novel amplification target of 1q32-41 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(Komatsu S et al. Carcinogenesis 2009). In this study, we demonstrated the molecular mechanisms and clinical significance of SMYD2 in gastrointestinal cancers, especially in gastric carcinoma.
