Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では生体界面を物理的刺激によってアクティブに制御することにより生体組織等に情報を埋込む実装技術を完成させ,外部から接触・非接触にセンサをアプローチして情報伝達することを目標としている.本技術は表面に薄膜電極を貼る技術とは一線を画し,実際に表層に低侵襲に情報を埋め込んでいるためこれまでになくロバストかつ安定にウェットな生体内外の情報伝達を行う技術である.情報の種類は磁性情報,遺伝子,機能性材料などを対象とし,情報量や埋め込む深さにおいてもターゲットの物性に応じてμmオーダで制御可能とし幅広いセンサに対応するものとする.

Outline of Final Research Achievements

We completed the implementation technology to embed information into biological tissues by actively controlling the biological interface with physical stimuli, with the goal of transmitting information by approaching sensors from the outside with or without contact. Until FY2023, we investigated the possibility of synthesizing, depositing, and controlling particle size of gold nanoparticles on hydrogels. In FY2024, we will focus on constructing LSPR biosensors, and in order to improve their sensitivity, we proposed a structure using nanoparticle assembly technology that enables sensing without arranging it on a substrate, and verified its effectiveness. The three important factors in improving sensitivity are 1) the distance between nanoparticle surfaces, 2) the lattice structure, and 3) the effective refractive index. It was found that nanoparticle structures can be expected to improve sensitivity by reducing the interparticle distance.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

ウェットな環境下で長時間生体を観察・識別し,生体の情報を伝達するできることは重要である.現在の代表的な自動認識技術としては,商品のバーコード技術,カードに用いられる磁気ストライプ技術,RFID技術,二次元コードであるQRコードがあるが,現在の技術では低コストかつ長時間安定的にウェットな環境下で使用できる技術は限られている.本研究は表面に薄膜電極を貼る技術とは一線を画し,実際に表層に低侵襲に情報を埋め込んでいるためこれまでになくロバストかつ安定にウェットな生体内外の情報伝達を行うためのインジェクション技術である.
