Outline of Research at the Start

電磁スペクトルのマイクロ波領域と赤外線領域の間にあるテラヘルツ(THz)放射は、多くの体系の励起と一致するため、低エネルギー分光法、生物医学イメージング、セキュリティなどに適している。ただし、高効率的なTHz波発生源がないため、一般的なTHzギャップ(約0.1-10THz)がある。近年、ナノメートルの厚さが持つ強磁性/非磁性ヘテロ構造(FM / NM)からTHz波発生が観察されているが、NMが貴金属である。本研究は、貴金属がないグラフェンとNi(G / Ni)の構造から、THz放射を検証したG/Niの逆ラシュバアイデルスタインという効果(IREE)により理論的と実験的方法で実証することを目指す。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、逆ラシュバ・エーデルシュタイン効果(IREE)による貴金属を用いないスヒントロニクステラヘルツエミッターを開発することを目的としている。2023年度は、強磁性金属のNi上のグラフェン(G/Ni)のスヒン輸送を理論的手法によって調へ、実験的にはG/Niの試料の試作目指した。第一原理計算法を用いて、従来のAg/Bi系などよりも高いラシュハ係数とスヒンー電荷変換係数のG/Niの構造が得られた。また、G/Niの構造製作に必要なグラフェン膜の試作と評価を行った。

Reason

研究成果の概要で述へたように、2023 年度の研究目標は、理論的方法による G/Ni のスヒン輸送 (特にスヒン-電荷変換メカニスム、従来の貴金属系より優れた構造)の研究であり、第一原理計算法を用いて従来のAg/Bi系などよりも高いラシュハ係数とスヒンー電荷変換係数を持つG/Niの構造についての見通しが得られた。また、実験的にはG/Niの構造製作に必要なグラフェン膜の試作と評価を行うことができた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2024年度はこれまでに計算されたスヒン輸送を用いて、遠方界近似でスヒン流の時間依存性によるTHz波放射(電界の振幅)を理論手法によって求める。また、理論研究で特定されたG/Ni構造を試作し、THz時間領域分光法(THz-TDS)によりTHz波放射の評価を行う。
