Outline of Research at the Start

ナノ物質は,その特異な化学的,光学的な特徴から,触媒や電子デバイスなど,さまざまな先進的な応用が期待されている。本研究では,電子線誘起化学反応を用いて,空間選択的に多様な機能性ナノ物質を合成する手法を構築する。これにより,複数の物質をナノメートルの精度で配置すること,また新しい光機能の創成とその制御が可能となる。本研究では,機能性ナノ物質の創成とその光特性制御に新しい方法論を構築することを目的にする。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study was to synthesize functional materials using electron beam irradiation in spatial controlled manner and achieve novel function control by fabricating the two-dimensional array structures. We used polyaromatic compounds as reaction precursors to spatially selectively synthesize the molecular clusters. The products exhibit unique optical properties that are different from those of the monomer. We established the two-dimensional fabrication method of functional nanomaterials by using the spatial selective synthesis developed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究により,機能性ナノ物質を作製する方法を新たに確立し,これをナノスケールで配列することを可能とした。機能性物質を空間選択的に配列することが可能となり,将来,光デバイスの小型化などに活用することが期待される。また,有機溶剤などを利用する溶媒プロセスを必要としないことから,低コストかつクリーンな物質合成を可能とするなど,環境負荷低減につながる社会的意義があると考えられる。
