Research Abstract |
Designed catalysts bearing an electron-poorπ-complexation unit was synthesized and evaluated in π-complexation capability with substrates having an electron-donating. π-complexation unit by NMR analysis. Whereas a model catalyst lacking catalytically active site as a Bronsted base produced aπ-complex, a catalyst armed with a catalytic functionality failed to form theπ-complex. A new design for properly separating theπ-complexation unit and the catalytic site would lead to an effective catalytic system.
