in vivo dendritic spine imaging throughout late neurodevelopment of schizophrenia model mice (prefrontal specific DISC1 knockdown mice and forebrain specific Calcineurin knockout mice) was performed. We observed the progressive spine deterioration during development of these two model mice. We also identified a small molecular compound that prevents the spine deterioration, suggesting a new strategy for drug development of schizophrenia.
