Research Abstract

We found that Esco1 acetylates cohesin through its N-terminalinteraction with Pds5. ChIP-seq analysis of ESCO1 showed that it co-localizes with cohesinthroughout the cell cycle. On the other hand acetylation of cohesin by ESCO2 requires Mcmhelicases. Thus Esco2 in human, just like Eco1 in yeast, seems to establish sisterchromatids cohesion during DNA replication progression
