Research Abstract |
In this study, we found that 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) accumulated in the paternal genome along the rapid disappearance of 5-methylcytosine (5mC). In addition, we revealed that PGC7 binds di-methylated histone H3K9 to protect against conversion of 5mC to 5hmC in maternal genome.
