Research Abstract |
Activation of the nuclear hormone receptor peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor o(PPARo) has been shown to improve insulin resistance, adiposity, and plasma HDL levels. Recently, several studies reported that activation of PPARδis atheroprotective, however, the effect for the renalfunction remains unclear. Here we report the renoprotecitve effects of PPARo activation in a model of streptozotosin-induced diabetic nephropathy.
