Outline of Research at the Start

世界最高地点に建設する口径6.5mTAO望遠鏡を用いて中性子星合体後の元素合成研究を系統的に行う。本研究計画によって近赤外線撮像分光装置SWIMSの感度を約３倍高くし、様々な質量の中性子星合体現象の時間進化を含めた0.9～2.5μmのスペクトル10例以上を取得、ランタンやセリウムなどの特徴に注目しながら理論モデルとの詳細比較を行い、合成される元素を特定することにより鉄よりも重い元素の起源を解明する。
