Outline of Final Research Achievements |
For controlling the friction between elastomer and solid in liquid, theoretical and experimental study about the effect of interfacial free energy has been studied. The proposed theoretical model considers dynamically molecular chain behavior on elastomer surface and interfacial fracture. This model can explain the stationary friction characteristics, but not enough to explain the variation of dynamic frictional force under dynamically sliding conditions.
